“And number three:  the right to carry out actions based on what we learn from the interaction of the first two.”

How can we do better if we don’t take the time to understand, question, integrate?  How can we get to the core of what we value if we don’t take the time to question others’ values and clallenges?  How can we behave closer to who we want to be?

I think also what Bradbury is trying to say is that it’s not enough to just read and understand concepts. You’re very right. It’s about integrating them into our lives. It’s about taking the ideas we read and think about, and making our lives better with them.

Yes! And those messages are everywhere: in books, in friendships, in nature, and sometimes on my tire guys’ billboard (This week, he boasts: “Always be a first rate version of yourself, not a second rate version of someone else.”)! It’s up to us to breathe in and manifest that wisdom. Thanks for your comment!
