Is there anything more simple and satisfying than coloring with your 5 year old on a rainy afternoon? A cinnamon scented candle burning in a votive on the kitchen counter.  A few breakfast crumbs still scattered on the table.  “Make the eyes red, Mommy.”  Left over macaroni and cheese and a banana for lunch and he’s excited.  A cup of tea for me as we color our way through his Scooby Doo coloring book.  He couldn’t be happier and neither could I.
